Tapering SSRIs & Medications

Some of you have reached out over email or instagram messages sharing how intense and scary it can feel to taper off of certain mood stabilizing drugs.
As you likely already know, getting off of Prozac, Lexapro, trazodone, & seroquel was a deeply critical and challenging time on my own journey: I felt like a LUNATIC, I stopped sleeping, started experiencing panic attacks triggered by what I could not name, and I had to actually get back on certain prescriptions because I felt I couldn't bear the intensity.
This process took several years of back & forth...
As the body rides the roller coaster, it's easy for doubt to seep in.
We might wonder: "Am I making the right decision? Maybe I need these drugs for the rest of my life. Maybe I won't be able to finish the taper. The symptoms of trying to taper are worse than I felt even before I started these prescriptions. My sleep has gotten so much worse since attempting to taper. I'm not sure I can survive this!"
These are some of the thoughts I personally had while trying to wean and this was before I even knew about EFT Tapping.
If I could go back in time, I would've given myself this video.
I'm hoping it serves as a stabilizing reminder when the doubt, worry, sadness, and fear start sneaking in, you can use this simple video to remember that you. can. do. it. and yes, it might be a bit uncomfortable, but you've been through much worse before and you can make it through this, too. This is the journey to get to a place where your body can finally start to balance out, naturally.
In the meantime, you deserve to give yourself kindness as you ride the bumps of slowly regaining balance. This takes time, often longer than our brains want it to take. Please, give yourself grace in this process. It's uncharted territory and you deserve to speak to your body like an ally as you take one step at a time, stabilizing for as long as you need to before moving forward. Maybe even moving "backwards" if that feels safer, for the time being.
(Just a reminder, this is not medical advice and by no means am I encouraging people to start tapering their pharmaceutical drugs without medical supervision and support. This video is merely to help support & ground you if you are already in the process of tapering with the guidance of your prescribing doctor.)
If any insights come up after finishing this sequence, feel free to let me know in the comments below. :)

Do Nothing
When you don't know what to do, the best next step might actually be to INTENTIONALLY choose to do nothing.
What?!

Accepting What Is
We might find ourselves wishing things were different.
We might stress ourselves out wondering what might've been if only we had _____ or if only we did ______.
